SUPPLIES NEEDED

TUBE OF CHOICE: I used the fantastic artwork of
Elias Chatzoudis.
You must have a license to use his art.
You can find Elias's art and get your license HERE.

SCRAPKIT: Haunted by Designs by Sarah
You can find it HERE.

MASK: Mask9 by Savage SWAK.
You can snag it .

FONT OF CHOICE: I used The End.

I used Photoshop for this tut.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
In this tut we'll be playing with Noise and Inner Glow.
We'll also be doing a little fading.
If you don't wish to animate, just skip the steps marked *BLUE*
Use my tag as a guide for placement of elements.

Open a canvas 700x700 pixels.
Flood fill with the color of your choice.

Open pp2.
Center on canvas.

Open Mask9.
You'll see three layers in Mask9.
Only move the layer called Mask
onto your siggy.
Place this on top of your paper.
With this layer highlighted
hold your CTRL key down on your keyboard
and hit your mask icon in the layer palette
at the same time.
You'll see little marching ants now.
Highlight your paper layer.
Click the mask button
(this is a square with a circle in it)
at the bottom of the layer palette.
*You should have two pictures in your paper layer now.
One of your paper and one of the mask.*
Hide your mask layer.
Highlight the paper layer.
Right click in the layer palette.
Hit Convert to Smart Object.
Right click again.
Click Rasterize Layer.
Voila! You have a mask!
Now you can delete the gray mask layer.

Resize your new mask to your liking.

Open frame5.
Center on canvas.

Open tag1.
Resize to 50%.
Place behind frame5 layer.
Center inside left square of frame.
You will see a portion inside the square
that tag1 doesn't cover.
That's ok.
Just do this.
Go to your Color Swatches box.
Change the color to abbe23.
Highlight tag1 layer.
Fill in the gap using a paint brush.
Duplicate this layer.
Flip Horizontally.
Move this layer over into the right square of frame.
You may want to rename this layer
tag1 right, or something similar
if you are going to animate.

*Duplicate both tag1 layers twice.
Leave the first layer of each as is.
For the second layer of each one, do this:
Go to the upper right corner of your Layer Palette.
Set the Opacity to 75%.
Repeat this for the third layers
except set Opacity to 50%.*

Open laceskull.
Resize to 50%.
Place in center square of frame.

Open corner2.
Duplicate this layer.
Flip Horizontally.
You may want to rename this layer
corner2 left, or something similar
if you are going to animate.

*Duplicate these layers twice.
Hide layers 2 & 3.
Highlight your first layer.
Go to Filter in your tool bar.
Choose NOISE.
Select ADD NOISE.
Check:
Uniform box
Monochromatic box.
Set the amount for 25.
Unhide and highlight your second layer.
Repeat the steps above but mark amount 30.
Unhide and highlight your third layer.
Again, Noise, Add Noise:
Uniform, Monochromatic, amount 35.*

Open wire.
Place across bottom of frame.

Open skull2.
Center at top of siggy.
*Duplicate this layer twice.
Leave the first layer as is.
We'll be using Inner Glow for the next two layers.
Second Layer:
color shown is 9afaaa

 Click Ok.

Third Layer:
Same settings as above.
Color: 29eb36

Open spider2.
Resize to 65%.
Duplicate this layer.

Open broken glass.
Place this over the skull.

These are the other elements I used:
ribbon1
ribbon2, flip Horizontally
ribbon4, flip Vertically
spider, duplicate layer
Flip second layer Horizontally.

Open your tube.
Place where you like on tag.

I placed a drop shadow on all layers
except the spider layer.

Resize your siggy to your liking.

Make a new layer.
Type your name on the taggie.
I used color acbe24.
Stroke: Outside, 3, black.
I also used:
Bevel & Emboss
Outer Glow
Drop Shadow

These are the settings I used:
BEVEL & EMBOSS

OUTER GLOW:
Color used: ffffbe

DROP SHADOW:

MOST IMPORTANT!!
You must now do this:
Put the artist's name, website, and your license number
of the tube you used on the siggy!!
Add your name (ie: Designed by Your Name) behind this info.
Make sure this info is legible and clearly seen.

If you don't want to animate, Save as PNG.
YOU'RE DONE!!
(If you want to maintain your layers
Always Save as PSD first.
Then you can save it as a PNG.
When doing both these steps
It is important to change the title of the tag.
Example:
When I Save as PSD,
I always name the tag what I want.
Then, when saving as a PNG,
I add the number 1 behind the name of the tag.
Like this:
Skull Luv, Save as PSD
Skull Luv1, Save as PNG
Otherwise, your PNG will overwrite your PSD
Merging your tag into one layer only.)

**TO ANIMATE**
Hide the second and third layers
of your duplicated layers
in the Layer Palette.
(Should be five layers that are duplicated.)
Open the Animation Window.
Set the time for .2.
Show all visible layers in the first frame.
Click the square button, next to the trash can,
in the animation window.
This will duplicate the first animation frame.
Go over to your Layer Palette.
Hide the first layers of all duplicated layers.
Unhide the second layers.
Go back to the animation window.
Open a new animation frame.
Go to Layer Palette.
Hide all second layers of duplicated layers.
Unhide the third layers.
Now back to the animation window again.
Duplicate the second animation frame.
This will now be your third frame.
Move frame 4 in the animation window
over between frames 2 and 3.
Click Play.
If you like what you see...

Save as PSD. Then Save for Web & Devises.

YOU'RE DONE!
I hope you had fun with this tut
and that you can use the fading technique
in other taggies you create!
HUGS!

♥Tribute to Rieka♥

To honor Rieka and all she has blessed me with, I will be leaving all my tuts that I have written with her kits on my blog. They are not coming down. Even though her kits are no longer available, the tuts I wrote using them are my tribute to her. Hopefully, they will inspire you the way Rieka inspired me. Love You, Rieka! You'll be forever in my heart.♥

Hi Ya'll! I'm Savage and I'd like to welcome you to Redneck Tuts. These are not your ordinary tuts, as they are geared toward those of us that don't have "working knowledge" of Photoshop or PSP. My tuts are all done in PS. They are designed to show you different techniques that you may not know. I hope you learn something that you can use in your creations in the future. Please, just have fun and put your own spin on these tuts. Be original and shine! Love Ya! ♥
