I used Photoshop for this tut.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Let's have some fun!
Open a new canvas, 850 wide by 315 high.
This size fits perfectly on your Facebook Timeline.
Transparent background.
Use my header as a guide for placement of elements.

Open paper2.
Resize to 40%
Move this over to the far left.
Place it right on the edges of the header
so you can see the black edges.
Duplicate this layer twice.
Move the second & third layers
toward the right of the first layer.
Overlap the layers a bit.
Now grab a soft edged eraser.
Erase the black left edges of the
second & third layers that overlap.
It should now look like a pink center
with a black edged splatter frame.
Go to the third paper layer
over in the Layer Palette.
Right Click.
Click on Merge Down.
Right Click and Merge Down again.
You should now have only one paper layer.

Now we'll make the sparkly frame.
Duplicate your merged paper layer.
Hide the first layer.
Highlight the second layer.
Grab your Magic Eraser.
Click inside the merged paper layer
on the pink part.
You should see marching ants.
Now go up to your tool bar.
Click Edit.
Click Cut.
Now all the pink should be gone
leaving you only with the black edges.
Go up to your tool bar again.
Click Filter.
Then click Noise, Add Noise.
Use these settings:

The frame layer you just worked on
will be the top layer of your header
when you are finished.
The only thing that will be on top of it
will be your name and the credits.

Unhide your first paper layer.
We will build the header from this layer up.
That way, your sparkly black frame layer
will always be on top.

Open paper8.
Resize to 35%
Duplicate this layer twice.
Arrange these layers as you did
with paper2 except do not overlap them.
Ok, now merge these three layers together
like you did before.
Center.
Grab a soft edged eraser.
Erase around the outside edges.

Now we'll add two elements
then the tubes.
Use my header as a guide for placement.
Open:
element44
element35, resize to 65%
I place element35 toward the left.

Open your Close Up tube.
Position this in the middle of the header.
Duplicate this layer twice.
Move one over toward the right.
Move the other toward the left.
I flipped this layer Horizontally.
*Remember, all of this is behind the black frame layer.*

Leave the middle tube as is.
Go over to the left tube.
Highlight this layer.
Go to the upper left corner of the Layer Palette.
Click the drop down arrow next to the word Normal.
Click Luminosity.
Leave Opacity setting at 100%.
Duplicate this layer.
With this layer highlighted,
Go back to the down arrow.
This time, click Screen.

Now highlight the tube layer over at the right.
Do the same with this tube as you did
with the tube layers on the left.

Ok! Let's add some elements!
These are the ones I used:
element46, resize to 65%
element13, resize to 70%
Duplicate this layer.
frame6
element1, resize to 50%
element3, resize to 45%
element24, resize to 65%
Duplicate this layer and flip Horizontally.
element14, resize to 30%
element39, resize to 25%
Duplicate this layer.
element27, resize to 20%
element15, resize to 35%
element38, resize to 35%

Place a drop shadow on your layers.
I did not place a drop shadow on:
left & right tube layers
element13 layers
paper layers
I also put an Outer Glow on element1.

Resize your taggie to your liking.

Make a new layer.
Type your name.
I used color b61e1e.
Stroke, Outside, 2, color f9d1e1.
I also used a drop shadow
Bevel & Emboss
Outer Glow
These are the settings I used
for Bevel & Emboss.

And for Outerglow

MOST IMPORTANT!!
When adding the credits of the artists on your header,
bear in mind that your avatar will cover
a small portion toward the left of the header.
So when placing ©information,
Make sure it is either in the center of the header
or off toward the right if you are placing it
at the bottom of the header.
You must now do this:
Put the artist's name, website, and your license number
of the tube you used on the header!
Add your name (ie: Designed by Your Name) behind this info.
Make sure this info is legible and clearly seen.

Save as PSD to maintain layers.
Then save as PNG, remembering to use a number behind the header title.
YOU'RE DONE!!
I hope you had fun with this tut!
HUGS!♥

♥Tribute to Rieka♥

To honor Rieka and all she has blessed me with, I will be leaving all my tuts that I have written with her kits on my blog. They are not coming down. Even though her kits are no longer available, the tuts I wrote using them are my tribute to her. Hopefully, they will inspire you the way Rieka inspired me. Love You, Rieka! You'll be forever in my heart.♥

Savage
Hi Ya'll! I'm Savage and I'd like to welcome you to Redneck Tuts. These are not your ordinary tuts, as they are geared toward those of us that don't have "working knowledge" of Photoshop or PSP. My tuts are all done in PS. They are designed to show you different techniques that you may not know. I hope you learn something that you can use in your creations in the future. Please, just have fun and put your own spin on these tuts. Be original and shine! Love Ya! ♥
