SUPPLIES NEEDED
TUBE OF CHOICE: I used the beautiful artwork of
Fiodorova_Maria
This tube is called Ariana.
You must have a license to use this art.
You can find this tube and get your license HERE.
SCRAPKIT: Irish Blessings by Irish Princess Designs.
You can find it in these stores
FONT OF CHOICE: I used Exmouth.
I used Photoshop for this tut.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Open a canvas 700x700 pixels.
Transparent background.
Use my tag as a guide for placement of elements.
I label my layers in the layer palette
with the element number from the kit I use
to cut down on confusion
while building my tag.
Open paper 2.
Center on canvas.
Hide this layer for now.
Open element 25.
Resize to 75%.
Place this a little toward the upper left.
We're going to place most of the elements
then place the tube.
I used these elements:
98, duplicate then hide the second layer
(we'll use the duplicate layer later)
143, resize to 10%, resize again to 65%
65 resize to 35%
51 resize to 35%, flip horizontally
90 resize to 50%
55 resize to 65%
11, resize to 90% then resize again to 25%
92 resize to 35%
34 resize to 25%
61 resize to 35%
36 resize to 35%
Now we'll place our tube
then add some more elements.
Go to the layer with element 98
in your layer palette.
Unhide the 98 duplicate layer.
Move this layer in between
element layers 90 & 55.
Now go back to the first 98 layer.
Highlight that.
Now open and place your tube.
It should be right above the
layer you just highlighted.
Resize your tube to fit.
I resized mine to 50%.
I also flipped my tube horizontally.
Erase any part of the tube that
hangs outside your tag.
Look at my tag for example.
Go up to your duplicated 98 layer.
Erase the part of the butterfly net
on the left side of the tag
that covers your tube's hand.
Now we'll add some more elements.
Go back down to your tube layer.
Highlight it.
The elements you add now will
be placed on top of your tube.
Open element 143.
Resize to 10%, resize again to 65%
Rotate it just a bit
and place it in your tubes hand.
Open 157.
Place this across the top portion of your tag.
Duplicate this layer.
Resize to 15%
Flip this layer horizontally.
Place it over the lips
and erase just a tiny bit
by the opening of the lips
to make it look like their blowing the rainbow.
Open element 57.
Resize to 10%.
Place on duplicated small rainbow.
Now highlight your paper 2 layer
at the bottom of your tag.
Unhide it.
Use a soft edged eraser
and erase around the edges
of your tag.
Place a dropshadow on all layers
EXCEPT
143 & 157, place an outerglow instead
No special effects on
paper 2 and
your duplicated 98 layer
Resize the siggy to your liking.
Make a new layer.
Type your name on the taggie.
I used color fefacf
Now duplicate your name layer
and hide the first layer.
Right click on the duplicated name layer.
Rasterize that layer.
With this layer still highlighted,
click on Filter at the top of your screen.
Next click Noise, then Add Noise.
In the pop up window,
use these settings:
Amount: 25
Check Uniform & Monochromatic
Click OK.
For the next effects,
Go to Layers at the top of your screen.
Click then click Layer Styles.
Now place a Stroke:
Size 3, Outside, Normal, Opacity 100%
color 13623c
I also used:
Bevel & Emboss
color 896308 for shadow mode
Add a drop shadow to your name.
MOST IMPORTANT!!
You must now do this:
Put the artist's name, website, and your license number
of the tube you used on the siggy!!
Add your name (ie: Designed by Your Name) behind this info.
Make sure this info is legible and clearly seen.
Always Save as PSD first.
Then you can save it as a PNG.
YOU'RE DONE!
I hope you had fun with this tut
and that you can use the different techniques
in other taggies you create!

If you can't find the right mask for your creation
You may just want to make your own.
Here is an easy way to do that.
First, you will always have a black background.
Second, you will be working with white
and different shades of grey.
Let me explain this.
Anything in your mask that is colored black
will completely wipe out anything beneath it.
Like this:
This is a mask I made
I placed this mask over a blue layer.
This is what happened to the black area.
See? The black part completely removed any color
that was in the layer that I applied the mask to.
White and Grey:
When you use white in a mask
that area will show through 100%.
Look at my mask above.
The white parts (the flowers and parts of the clouds)
allowed the color of the blue layer,
to show completely with 100% opacity, or visibility.
Using different shades of grey will affect the opacity too.
The lighter the grey, the more visible color beneath it.
Darker grey will show less opacity.
Look up at my mask again.
The darker grey areas of the mask
(like in the center of the mask)
reduce the visibility of the blue layer.
This gives it a softer look.
Ok. Now let's do this.
Open a new canvas.
Make the canvas at least 800x800 pixels.
Flood fill your first layer black.
This will be your background for your mask.
Now create a new layer.
Choose white or a shade of grey for color.
Browse through your brushes.
Find one you want to use for your mask.
Size the brush to fit your canvas.
Now use this brush to begin your mask.
This part is totally up to you.
Only you know what you want.
Play around with your brush until you like what you see.
In the mask above,
I started with a cloud brush
and placed it in several places on one layer.
This is my mask with only two layers:
the black background and the cloud layer.
I decided it needed more.
So I added another new layer.
I found a different brush and played some more.
This is the new layer I made.
(I've hidden the first cloud layer so you can see this more clearly)
Again, I placed the brush in several different places.
Now I have three layers:
black background
cloud layer
flower layer
When I was completely happy with it,
I saved it as a psd.
Then I merged all layers together by saving it as a jpeg.
Viola! A mask!
You can find free brushes all over the net.
Just do a search for free PSP brushes or PS brushes.
Please read the TOU before using the brushes.
Some are for personal use only,
others can be used for commercial use.
You can also use preset shapes.
You can also use preset shapes.
Play to your hearts content!
You can make as many layers as you want.
Some of my masks started out with over 10 layers.
I always make a new layer for each brush I use.
I also save my masks as psd before merging.
That way, I can go back and play some more if I want to.
Then I save the mask as a jpeg.
That will automatically merge all your visible layers into one.
And there you go.
I hope this helps you in creating your own unique masks.
♥Thanks for looking! ♥

TUBE OF CHOICE: I used a tube by Keith Garvey.
This tube is called Ivory.
There are three different sizes of this tube.
I used both Close Up sizes.
You must have a license to use this art.
You can find this art and get your license HERE.
SCRAPKIT: Sweet my Valentine by Edelweiss Design.
You can find it HERE.
MASK: Mask17 by Savage SWAK.
You can snag it HERE.
FONT OF CHOICE: I used Bickham Script Fancy Two.
I used Photoshop for this tut.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
In this tut we're going to make a quick tag using
a Cluster Frame and a mask as an overlay.
Open a canvas 800x800 pixels.
Transparent background.
Open papier08.
Center on canvas.
Open Cluster 03.
Center this on canvas.
Highlight papier08 layer.
Grab a soft edged eraser.
Erase the paper around the Cluster.
When you're done erasing,
the only paper that should be showing
will be inside the heart frames.
Now we'll work with the tubes.
Depending on the tube you use,
you may have different sizes.
With this tube, I used the two Close Ups.
Open the largest Close Up tube.
Place this under the Cluster frame in the Layer Palette.
Flip it Horizontally.
Duplicate this layer.
Position one layer inside the left heart frame.
Place the second tube layer inside the circle
next to the violin.
Use my tag as a guide.
Highlight the tube layer inside the heart.
Go to the top of the Layer Palette.
You will see a box with the word Normal.
Click the down arrow.
Scroll down and click Soft Light.
Now highlight the tube inside the circle.
In the upper right corner of the Layer Palette,
you will see Opacity.
Type 65 in the box.
Hit Enter on your keyboard.
Now open your mask.
Place the wordart layer of the mask
on top of your tube layers.
I rotated the mask a bit so the words slanted.
I put a Color Overlay on the mask.
I used this color:
9b0c18
Erase all parts of the mask
that go outside the heart frame.
This is now where I used a different size of the same tube.
Open your tube.
Place this on top of the mask in the Layer Palette
and under the Cluster Frame.
Position it to your liking inside the smaller heart frame.
Place a drop shadow on all your layers
except your paper and mask layers.
Resize the siggy to your liking.
Make a new layer.
Type your name on the taggie.
I used color 730b0d.
Now place a Stroke:
Stroke, Outside, 2, color White
I also used:
Bevel & Emboss
Then I added an Outer Glow
And a Drop Shadow
MOST IMPORTANT!!
You must now do this:
Put the artist's name, website, and your license number
of the tube you used on the siggy!!
Add your name (ie: Designed by Your Name) behind this info.
Make sure this info is legible and clearly seen.
Save as PNG.
YOU'RE DONE!!
(If you want to maintain your layers
Always Save as PSD first.

♥Tribute to Rieka♥
To honor Rieka and all she has blessed me with, I will be leaving all my tuts that I have written with her kits on my blog. They are not coming down. Even though her kits are no longer available, the tuts I wrote using them are my tribute to her. Hopefully, they will inspire you the way Rieka inspired me. Love You, Rieka! You'll be forever in my heart.♥
