TUBE OF CHOICE: I used the fantastic artwork of
Ismael Rac.
You must have a license to use this art.
You can find this art and get your license HERE.

SCRAPKIT: Creepy Gene A Dark Love
by Black Widow Creationz.
You can find it HERE.

FONT OF CHOICE: I used: the King & Queen font.

I used Photoshop for this tut.
In this tut we'll make candle flames move.
If you don't wish to animate, just skip the steps marked *BLUE*
Use my tag as a guide for placement of elements.

Open a canvas 700x700 pixels.
Flood fill with the color of your choice.

Open Paper26.
Resize to 90%.
Center on canvas.
Grab a soft edged eraser.
Erase around the edges.

Open MessiMask5.
Open MessiMask4.
Place one of these in upper left of canvas.
Place the other in the lower right.

I used these elements:
BrokenHeart4, resize to 80%
BrokenHeart5, resize to 80%

Open your tube.
Place to your liking.

Then I used these elements:
DrippingHearts1, resize to 65%
Duplicate this layer.

Skull5, resize to 50%
With skull5 highlighted,
Go to the upper left corner of your Layer Palette.
Click the down arrow next to the word Normal.
Choose Screen.
Leave the Opacity set to 100%.

BrokenHalo, resize to 90%
Chain1, resize to 65%

Boot, resize to 75%
Flip Horizontally.
Duplicate this layer.

Place a drop shadow on all layers except:
*If you are animating
Do not put a drop shadow on
You'll do that later.*
Resize your siggy to your liking.

Make a new layer.
Type your name.
I used Black.
Stroke: Outside, 3, color 7c7777.
Place a Drop Shadow on this.

You must now do this:
Put the artist's name, website, and your license number
of the tube you used on the siggy!!
Add your name (ie: Designed by Your Name) behind this info.
Make sure this info is legible and clearly seen.

If you don't want to animate, Save as PNG.
(If you want to maintain your layers
Always Save as PSD first.
Then you can save it as a PNG.
When doing both these steps
It is important to change the title of the tag.
When I Save as PSD,
I always name the tag what I want.
Then, when saving as a PNG,
I add the number 1 behind the name of the tag.
Like this:
Flying High, Save as PSD
Flying High1, Save as PNG
Otherwise, your PNG will overwrite your PSD
Merging your tag into one layer only.)

We need to do a few things
to get ready for the animation.
We will create the candle flame,
make the wings on WingedHeart3 sparkle
and glitter your name.

Highlight Candle2 layer.
Grab your Magic Wand.
Click on the candle flame.
Go up to your tool bar to Edit.
Click Copy.
Back to Edit.
Click Paste.
You'll now have a candle flame layer.
Make sure you label it.
Hide this layer for now.
With Candle2 layer still highlighted,
Grab an eraser.
Erase the flame on the candle.
You won't need it anymore.

Ok. Now unhide the candle flame layer.
Duplicate this layer 3 times.
I label these layers as I create them:
candle flame1, candle flame2, etc...
You now have four layers of candle flame.

We want some flame on Candle3.
Move candleflame4 over to Candle3.
Get it positioned as close to the wick as you can.
Now duplicate candleflame4 twice.
Doing it this way cuts down on a lot of moving.
So now you have candleflame5 & 6 too.

Highlight candleflame1.
Hide all candleflame layers
that you are not currently working on.
This will make it easier to see what you are doing.
Go to your tool bar to Filter.
Choose Distort.
Click on Ripple.
A window will pop up.
Use these settings for candleflame1
then repeat these steps for candleflame4.

Click OK.

Repeat the Ripple steps for
candleflame2 & 5
using these settings:

Click OK.

Again, use the Ripple steps
for candleflame3 & 6
using these settings:

Click OK.

To make the flame look a little more realistic
we will use an Inner Glow.
You only need to create your Inner Glow once
then we'll copy & paste the Layer Style
onto the rest of the candleflame layers.

Highlight candleflame1 layer.
Go up to your tool bar to Layer.
Choose Layer Style.
Click Inner Glow.
Use these settings:
color: e0f90b

Click OK.

With candleflame1 layer still highlighted,
Right Click in the Layer Palette.
In the window that comes up
Choose Copy Layer Style.
Now go to the other candleflame layers,
one at a time,
Highlight the layer.
Right Click.
Choose Paste Layer Style.
See? Easy peasy. LOL!
We're done with the candleflame layers now.

Highlight WingedHeart3 layer.
Grab your Magic Wand.
While holding down the Shift key
on your keyboard,
Start clicking inside the wings.
Keep clicking until you have most of the wings
covered in marching ants.
Go up to Edit in your tool bar.
Click Copy.
Back to Edit.
Click Paste.
You now have a layer of just wings.
Label this wings1.
Duplicate this layer twice.
Now you've got wings1, 2 & 3.
Three layers altogether for wings.

Hide wings2 & 3 layers.
Highlight wings1 layer.
Go up to your tool bar.
Click Filter.
Choose Noise.
Click Add Noise.
A window pops up.
Use these settings:

Click OK.

Highlight wings2 layer.
Do the same thing for Noise again.
This time, in Amount,
Type 33.
Repeat this one more time for wings3.
Amount: 36.
We're done with the wings.

Highlight your name layer.
Duplicate this layer.

Hide the first name layer.
(The reason I don't delete the first name layer
is so that if I want to do another tag
with a different name,
I don't have to go hunting for the
fonts or text effects again.
And you'll need the text effects in just a bit.)

Highlight the second name layer.
Right click in your Layer Palette.
In the window that pops up,
Choose Clear Layer Style.
Right Click again.
This time, click Rasterize Type.
Duplicate this layer twice.
You now have four name layers,
three are rasterized.
I call the rasterized layers
name layer 1, 2 & 3.
Remember, the first layer should be kept hidden.

We will add some Noise now.
Repeat the steps for adding Noise
that you just did.
The only difference is this:
name layer 1: Amount 40
name layer 2: Amount 45
name layer 3: Amount 50

Now unhide the original name layer.
Right click in the Layer Palette.
Select Copy Layer Style.
Hide this layer again.

Highlight your three name layers,
one at a time and
Right click again.
Choose Paste Layer Style.
Do this to all three name layers.
They will all now have the text effects on them.
You're done with the name.

Open your animation window.
Set the time for .1
In your first frame of animation
all layers of your tag should show
candleflame2, 3, 5 & 6
wings2 & 3
name layer 2 & 3

Click the square button, next to the trash can,
in the animation window.
This will duplicate the first animation frame.
You will now have frames 1 & 2.

In the second frame of animation
show all layers
candleflame1, 3, 4 & 6
wings1 & 3
name layers 1 & 3

Make another new animation frame.
In the third frame, show all
candleflame1, 2, 4 & 5
wings1 & 2
name layers 1 & 2

Now highlight frame 2 in your animation.
Duplicate this frame.
(That little square next to the trash can.)
Now you have four frames.

Highlight frame 4 of animation.
Hold your mouse down and drag this frame
over and put it between your current frames 2 & 3.

You're ready to view your creation!

Click Play.
If you like what you see...

Save as PSD. Then Save for Web & Devises.

I hope you had fun with this tut
and that you can use these techniques
in other taggies you create!

♥Tribute to Rieka♥

To honor Rieka and all she has blessed me with, I will be leaving all my tuts that I have written with her kits on my blog. They are not coming down. Even though her kits are no longer available, the tuts I wrote using them are my tribute to her. Hopefully, they will inspire you the way Rieka inspired me. Love You, Rieka! You'll be forever in my heart.♥
